Easy Way To Make Money In Fallout 3
I have been playing fallout now for about a week and so far I have found that the best way to earn caps is to farm.
Sell pre-war books at the arlington library to the scribe. if you have point lookout, sell punga fruits....good lightweight ratio for the caps you get and they're pretty common in point lookout ````
What's farming?
Farming generaly means to gather resorces. In terms of fallout it means to go out with as little armor, weapons and ammunition as possible and look for enermies to kill and take their property this in turn can then be sold to suppliers on the game.
When i need caps I start killing the BoS and take their holotags to citadel..
I just pick up everything and anything i see, and then go sell all my junk ^^--Deathclaw Killer
find all the pre war books and attack evergreen mills
can always get perk that allows you to sell ears of good guys to guy in scrapyard then pickpocket him and sell it again and again and again forever.
After the Reilly's Rangers mission, if you agree to help them with their mapping, you'll get 100 caps for every location you've discovered (I think it was 100). Once I did that I had like 7,000 caps immediately.
Stealing. Let's see...everyone in Tenpenny Towers, The Stahls, that Silver lady, rivet city :) That and selling al the pre war money I can find. (They sell for like, $2 each and weigh nothing. Flamer Fuel, Darts before I got the dart gun, Railway spikes. Selling everything I owned really :P
A fairly steady and reliable way at the start of the game to make money is to accumulate, repair and sell raiders armour. Gunner Bill 20:09, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
In your house (Tenpenny or Megaton), ask your butler robot for some beverages. Sell the water and wait a few days, get more, and sell again.
I figured this out early in the game is that you take any melee weapon (to conserve ammo) and just go to combat hotspots and i get so much armor and ammo that i don't know wat to do wit it all. Some hot spots for begginers are sprinvale elementry- 3 raiders, kaylens bed and breakfest- 8 raiders and dog and even sometimes BoSO's. This will get you plenty of guns, ammo, and armor which you can sell for money= ammo and supplies.
Go to evergreen Mills with 100 repair, kill all the raiders then take everything they have. At the end, repair all their stuff to full with the other stuff you took. With 100 repair, Combing, for example, Raider Blastmaster armour, one value 70 the other 60, 70+60= like 200 with 100 repair. Then sell that. Also do Reilly's rangers quest I am now on my 4th walthrough and i got like 10000 caps last time. Liam Spencer 04:26, December 31, 2009 (UTC)
If you have Operation Anchorage dlc then you can get thousands of caps worth of ammo. all you have to do is once you get ammo from a dispencer, drop it and get more, drop it get more and repeat.
the ammo stays in the game just do ears, scrap, prewar books, and weapons and armor as well as food and beer.68.190.193.57 01:03, 9 February 2009 (UTC)
do people really believe that you can take things from a sim? im just saying its a sim not the actual game.but try the lawbringer perk you get loots of money that way.Maccy Man. 00:44, 23 February 2009 (UTC)
Attack the Family and loot the crap out of them!AngryNorwegianDude 10:47, 7 March 2009 (UTC)
Actually, you can take things from OA. All you have to do is drag Gary 23's body into the pod with you, then once you're done, if you press A really fast as you're coming out of the sim, you can leave stuff from the sim on his body, then pick it up later. It's how I got my unlimited CND Gauss Rifle. Broeman 22:25, 10 March 2009 (UTC)
Kill everything that moves and loot them. Use the stealth suit in the R.C. market, steal everything, then sell it all back to the vendors. If you're trying to be good or neutral just balance it with the water beggars. Also you can take Fortune Finder at lvl 6.--JiNX Bloodfang 11:54, 4 May 2009 (UTC)
Invest all the way in the trade caravans, then go scavenging to exchange heavy junk for their caps. Generally, by the time I hit level 5, my main problem is getting ammo, rather than caps. Skorpychan 02:13, 7 August 2009 (UTC)
Enslaving nameless NPCs is also a quick way to earn caps if you're playing a evil character.
Slaving works well, and if your repair is high enough then just about anything can be perfect CND. If you get assault rifles to a high CND then you can easily earn lots of caps.
I like Deathclaw Killer's strategy up top. I usually pick up everything I see, until I start getting over-encumbered (or whatever you call it) then I start dropping the less important stuff to make room. P.S. How do you enslave people? With the Mezmetron? 'cause I never really used that gun, even when I had it. Rainman222 17:04, January 8, 2010 (UTC)Rainman222
look up the weight/currency ratio. it's simple. when i started, i picked up everything with at least a ratio of 2. but really, pick up all the armor, weapons, and weightless junk you find. you'll be pretty much set... almost.... if you're going through the story, then by the time you get to Raven Rock, you'll be a pretty good level, and you'll find a shitload of ammo in there to sell. so pay attention to value ratios, get high levelled, and it really helps if you go through the main story.Dunmer999 17:50, December 12, 2010 (UTC)
Correction: Unlike FO1, 2, (possibly Tactics and BoS) and New Vegas, Fallout 3 has never had a carry weight for ammunition, so therefore, bringing as little ammo as possible with you, to kill enemies is a stupid idea. You don't want to get caught with no ammo, terrible Melee/Unarmed Weapons skill and your first Glowing One (not that you'd farm feral ghouls for caps) attacking you, as I noobily did once. Bring all your ammo! --Tag! 02:37, September 20, 2011 (UTC)
I just go and raid the small crappy towns, then like at the police station most of the time people respond and raid it again.Coffer85 13.56, September 23, 2011
