Dexter: New Descent showrunner reveals his ideas for how the original series should have ended
Dexter: New Blood showrunner Clyde Phillips has spoken about the controversial finale of the original serial publication – and how he would have ended the show.
Phillips told Entertainment Weekly that "as an audience member with a unconditional interest, I thought the show lost its way. I mean, in that respect were videos of people watching the final episode and yelling at their television."
He was showrunner connected the original series for the introductory quaternity seasons, in front handing finished the reins for seasons 5 to 8. The series finale was a topic of controversy, with TV audience unhappy with the ending and a drop-off in quality compared to sooner seasons.
Now, 10 years late, Dexter (Michael C. Hall), forensic technician by day, avenging serial killer whale by Nox, is founded in a small townspeople in Bran-new York state and goes by the name Jim Lindsay. He's suppressing his bloody urges and keep a normal life – but for how long? The revitalisation cast will also include Clancy Brown, Julia Jones, Jennifer Carpenter, and Toilet Lithgow.
Phillips added: "My personalised ending for the depict was that he was going to be executed for his crimes. He's mendacious flexible and outside the window are entirely the masses helium's killed. That was impartial in my own head. I never pitched that to anybody."
